The best of the best at Oregon State Fair, featuring the best food and drink from around the world
The Oregon State Football Coaches Association’s annual “Best of the Best” awards are back, and it’s time to crown a champion!
The Oregon State fair has a very strong history of celebrating football talent, and for this year’s edition the coaches association is featuring some of the most notable names in the sport.
The Oregon Stags will be in attendance for the first time at the Fairgrounds and will be making a splash in the Coaches association’s “Best in Football” award, while the Oregon Ducks will be taking home the “Best College Football” Award.
We’re sure that some of you have already seen some of these players at the Oregon State University’s home games, but who’s to say that the game won’t be a bit different?
We’re sure some of our fans will be looking forward to their visit with some of their favourite footballers.
Let’s get to the fun!
Here are the coaches that will be at the fair for the Oregon Stag game against the Washington State Cougars:Nick Foles, QB, Washington State, Senior, 6’2″, 215 lbs.
The quarterback who helped lead Washington State to the Cougars’ first national championship in the last decade and who was voted the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 is poised to return to the gridiron.
Foles was voted to the All-Pac-12 First Team last season and the quarterback’s performance in the Cougar’s run to the Pac 12 Championship was a highlight of the season.
During his senior season, Foles set career highs in completions (6,542) and yards (1,788) while rushing for 1,543 yards.
He also caught three touchdown passes, which tied him for second on the team.
Oregon Stags head coach Mike MacIntyre and defensive coordinator Matt Rhule will also be on hand for the game.
Ralph Webb, WR, Fresno State, Sophomore, 6′,1″, 196 lbs.
It’s been a while since Ralph Webb had a big game, but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t earned a spot in the Oregon football coaching staff.
The Fresno State senior set school records for passing yards (2,541), passing touchdowns (17), and total touchdowns (80) during his senior year, and was voted second-team All-Mountain West by the coaches and media.
The 6’1″ Webb is a talented receiver who had a great season in 2016 and was a consensus All-American in his senior campaign.
A Heisman finalist in 2015, Webb’s ability to make big plays at the catch point has been a huge part of Fresno State’s success in 2017.
The Ducks are also represented at the “Boys & Girls” event.
This year’s event will be hosted by former Ducks coach Chip Kelly and former Stags coach Mike Leach.
Kelly and Leach are both very involved in the Ducks program and will both be there at the event.
Oregon State is also represented in the “Golf” event, which will be held at the Eugene Civic Auditorium.
This is an annual event that highlights Oregon State’s golf program, featuring some top players in the golf world.
This year’s lineup includes the defending national champion, Jack Nicklaus, and world champion Rory McIlroy.
The “B-Boys” feature the Oregon Men’s Soccer Team and will also feature the reigning national champion team, the US Open Men’s Championship golf team, and the reigning women’s national champion golf team.
The Coaches & Coaches Associations “Best In Football” awards will be presented at the conclusion of the Oregon-Washington State game, and each team will receive a $250,000 award.
