LOS ANGELES — A flag of Peace is a symbol of peaceful resistance.
That’s the definition of the flag in Orange County, California, according the county’s Fairing Association, a nonprofit that promotes peace and justice.
The association is a nonprofit association of businesses and individuals in Orange Counties 35 counties that have adopted the Flag of Peace Flag Code of Ethics and Practices.
The code defines a flag as “a flag of the United States of America with the motto ‘peace on earth, liberty under law,'” according to the association’s website.
“We are proud to support the flag as a symbol for our community, our country and our future,” said Michael G. Foscolo, executive director of the Orange County Flag Association.
The flag is one of more than 300 adopted by counties in California and in more than 100 other U.S. states, the association said in a press release.
